Standard Monitoring and Sol-Ark Integration

Standard Monitoring and Sol-Ark Integration

Introduction

The 48 VNOM Blue Ion energy storage system is designed to be compatible with the majority of charge controllers and inverters that work with traditional lead acid batteries.

By setting the bulk, absorb, float, and equalize set points to these values, we are overriding the logic of the chargers to allow the full power of the charging source to be applied to the Battery Management Unit. In this way, the Battery Management Unit is monitoring each battery module for current, temperature, and voltage precisely balancing each cell in every module. When the battery modules have reached the recommended highest voltage of 55.2 VDC and an associated 100% State of Charge, the programming of the charging set points simply turns the charging source off or maintaining a float voltage.

The inverter settings in this application note are meant to better match the performance of the Blue Ion Energy Storage System to the capabilities of the Sol-Ark inverters and maximize the usable system performance. Each project has its own variables that must be accounted for when setting inverter parameters. Carefully review these settings, they can be changed to optimize the performance of your particular system.
