The 48 VNOM Blue Ion Energy Storage System (ESS) is designed to be compatible with the majority of charge controllers and inverters that work with traditional lead acid batteries.
When operating in an open loop scenario (no communication between the Blue Ion and the inverter or charge controller) use these setpoints as a starting point for dialing in for optimized performance. The Blue Ion Battery Management Unit (BMU) is monitoring each battery module for current, temperature, and voltage and thus precisely balancing each cell in every module. When the battery modules have reached the recommended highest voltage of 55.2 VDC and an associated 100% State of Charge, the programming of the charging set points simply turns the charging source off.
The settings in this guide are recommendations only. They are intended to keep the batteries within their operational limits (maximum voltage, maximum current, etc). These settings can be changed to optimize the performance of your particular system.
